The past few centuries have been greatly affected by war on a global scale. Select one Western (European or American) artwork from anywhere in the textbook that was made between 1800-1955, and discuss how it responds to, reflects, resists, or is influenced by war. This can be a visible influence in the work, or related to the circumstances or philosophies of the artist. Be sure that your discussion also addresses the physical form of the work — any elements and/or principles (see Module 7) that enhance the viewer’s understanding of the work’s message.

Give the artist, title (in italics), medium, and date of the work discussed. Your response should be about 200-300 words.
