I think that social influences affect my personality and behavior in very large ways. Depending on the kind of people I’m around, my personality can vary. This being said, there are very many aspects of my personality that only come out at certain times. If I am at work around older employees, I will act much more reserved. However, when I am around people that I am comfortable with, I am much more outgoing and obnoxious. Every social influence that I have encountered to this day has made me the person I am today. It prepared me for the people of the world and and what exactly I wanted to get out of my life. I think that social-cognitive theories complement views like Skinner’s by showing how exactly repetitive events and encounters can help form our personalities.
