The purpose of this assessment item is to assess your knowledge of the competitive advantage concept. For this assessment task you are required to write an essay (2000 words) addressing the following questions:

What is strategy and why is it important in businesses and not-for-profit organisations. What challenges do organisations face in trying to develop and impliment a strategy? Do you think strategy is still a relevant concept in the modern competitive environment? Use examples to support your answer.

This question should be answered in essay format, with an introduction, body, and conclusion. There is no requirement for a table of contents for this assignment, but page numbers must be included.
