As a military veteran when asked a question like this, it seems to be an easy answer. In my opinion, I do feel it was a justified defense. Being that the United States had already dropped the first A-bomb and Japan still had not surrendered, us as a country had to ensure our well-being and safety. The only way to do this was to drop the second bomb to lock in our safety…and it worked. While this may seem harsh, if we would have waited before dropping the second bomb they could have already attacked us again before it happened.
