Precede-Proceed Model

The program planning model that is selected is PRECEDE (Predisposing, reinforcing and enabling constructs in educational diagnosis and evaluation)-PROCEED (policy, regulatory and organizational constructs in educational and environmental development) model that is a comprehensive structure in the assessment of the needs of heath in order to design, implement and evaluate health promotion and other programs of public health (RHI hub, n.d.). Now separating the two main aspects of the model i.e. PRECEDE (providing the planning structure for public health program) and PROCEED (providing the structure in implementation and evaluation of the public health program). The key elements of this model are that it provides a procedural structure and multilevel assessment for the intervention construction with five phases of PRECEDE (social, epidemiological, behavioural, educational and Administrative policy diagnosis) and PROCEED with four phases (implementation, process, impact and outcome) (RHI hub, n.d.). The program planning models are used in developing programs because a multilevel assessment is done ahead with identification of the problem, selection of the outcomes, evaluation of resources, implementation and then final evaluation (Binkley and Johnson, 2014).
