You will prepare and submit a term paper on Should We Teach Kids Sex Education from An Early Age in School. Your paper should be a minimum of 1500 words in length. Mainly, they get information from their peers. As a result, they get an urge to have a firsthand experience (Weaver, Smith, & Kippax, 2005). This has been playing a significant role in increasing the number of adolescents who are affected by early pregnancy and other sexually transmitted diseases. Teaching children about sex and its repercussions can minimize their urge to engage in it. This could save them from the burdens associated with sexual activities at an early age. Moreover, it would enlighten the children on the importance of abstaining and avoiding being lured by peers to engage in sexual behavior.

Children who are at adolescent age are likely to be swayed easily by their peers. Many of them like someone to associate with at this stage (Mueller, Gavin, & Kulkarni, 2008). With parents being occupied by their jobs, children are likely to do anything to win the love of their peers, an aspect that leaves them exposed. Many of these children realize the mistake they have done when it’s too late. Some of them end up being parents, an aspect that hampers their dream and ambitions as their attention shifts towards taking care of the children. Therefore, educating the children at an early age would play a significant role in enabling the children to be more cautious when engaging with their friends. In addition, it would enlighten them on the protection measures that are necessary to avoid infections and early pregnancies.

Currently, children have access to the internet and social media where a lot of information concerning different topics is being exchanged. A lot of information found on these platforms cannot be verified and can be misleading. During the adolescent age, the body of&nbsp.these children experiences a lot of changes. In addition, they become overactive. However, some children become reserved and their confidence is affected.

Grunt Life in the US Marine Corps

Specific Purpose

The main purpose of the presentation is to inform the audience about grunt life in the US Marine Corps, taking off from the available literature on the subject.

Central Idea

Grunt life in the US Marine Corps is hard and challenging, but for the sincere Marine this kind of life has its own rewards and fulfillments.

Introduction

I. The term grunt refers in general to infantry men in the Armed Forces, and for the Marine Corps all personnel that have the Military Occupational Specialty of 03 are infantry men or grunts (Urban Dictionary, 2012).

1. The term is opposed to pougues, who are in essence non-ground personnel, or personnel with office or support details (Urban Dictionary, 2012)

2. The different personnel classified as grunts include the following, together with their MOS number designations: rifleman (0311). Riverine Assault Craft (0312). LAV Crewman (0313). Rigid Raiding Craft (0314). Combat Rubber Reconnaissance Craft (0316). Scout Sniper (0317). Reconnaissance Man (0321). Reconnaissance Man, Parachute Certified (0323). Reconnaissance Man, Combatant Diver Certified (0324). Reconnaissance Man, Parachute and Combatant Diver Certified (0326). Machine Gunner (0331). Mortarman (0341). Infantry Assaultman (0351). Anti-Tank Missileman (0352). Infantry Unit Leader 0369) (Powers, 2012).

II. Taking a step back, the grunt is part of the highly esteemed US Marine Corps, whose commander is a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the US, and which functionally is part of the US Navy (Columbia Encyclopedia, 2012)

1. Marine grunts have a long and prestigious history defending the country against its enemies and being at the forefront of various wars since its inception (US Marine Corps, 2012).

2. The place of US Marine Corps in American culture is one of honor, as evidenced by the dedicated war memorial that has come to be the final resting place of US Marine grunts (National Park Service, 2012)

Body

I. Life as a Marine grunt is hard and strenuous, from the first day of training through the different missions and tasks that the grunt is assigned to. It is demanding physically, emotionally, and psychologically, and only the fittest survive through to the training and the actual field deployments (US Marine Corps, 2012. Wetzel, 2012. Lodder, 2011. Hogan, 2008. Mitchell, 2010. Small Wars Foundation, 2009).

1. The dangers that grunts face in the Marines is real, and there are testimonies to the strength and courage of those who suffered serious and life-threatening disabilities and injuries on the field. Those testimonies and stories make up the vast lore of valor and bravery that make up the life of the Marine grunt, and they are widely discussed and honored by all Marines and the larger society. The story of one Marine who suffered massive injuries while on duty in Germany is the story of all Marines (Wetzel, 2012)

References to grunt life in the protracted wars that the US continues to fight, such as those in Afghanistan, are graphic and unedited, giving us a glimpse of the unromantic aspect of grunt life, so unlike the romantic images we get from the movies and from popular culture. Real grunt life in the Marines is sometimes harrowing, but Marine grunts try and stick with the truth no matter where it leads (Small Wars Foundation, 2009. Hogan, 2008)

II. The rewards of grunt life include a life differently lived, surviving and thriving in the harsh conditions of the training and the deployments, and the wisdom and experience gained from such a life. This is on top of the honors and the high esteem given to Marines by American society (Small Wars Foundation, 2009. Hogan, 2008. Wetzel, 2012. National Park Service, 2012. Lodder, 2011. Mitchell, 2010).

1. The psychology of the Marine is partly about pride at being excellent in their line of work, and in being of true service to their country (Mitchell, 2010)

2. Society pays tribute to the Marine grunt through war memorials and a special place in the popular lore of American culture (Small Wars Foundation, 2009. Hogan, 2008. US Marine Corps, 2012. Wetzel, 2012. National Park Service, 2012. Lodder, 2011).

Conclusion

Grunt life in the US Marine Corps is difficult and challenging, as well as dangerous. There is a reason why the recruitment and training process is very rigorous, as only the fittest emotionally, physically, and psychologically are able to make the cut. Being admitted is a big rewards in itself. Aside from that, grunt life in the Marines has its own satisfactions and returns, chief among them the esteem that comes from being considered among the best in the field, and from being part of a group that is held in very high regard in American culture and society (US Marine Corps, 2012. Wetzel, 2012. Lodder, 2011. Hogan, 2008. Mitchell, 2010. Small Wars Foundation, 2009).

PHI103 final paper

Step one: Construct an argument for a position on the topic: Under what conditions is physician-assisted suicide morally accceptable?

This final assignment is designed to involve all of the main skills that you have learned during this course. In particular, your paper should demonstrate the ability to construct a deductively valid or inductively strong argument, clearly and accurately explain your reasoning, use high-quality academic sources to support the premises of your argument, fairly and honestly evaluate contrary arguments and objections, and identify fallacies and biases that occur within the arguments or objections presented.

In your paper

  • Explain the topic you are addressing and your position on it. Provide a preview of your paper and a statement of your thesis in your opening paragraph. [Approximately 100 words]
  • Present your main argument for your thesis in standard form, with each premise and the conclusion on a separate line. Clearly indicate whether your argument is intended to be inductive or deductive. Follow up the presentation of your argument by clarifying the meaning of any premises that could use some explanation. [About 150 words]
    • If your argument is deductive, then it should be valid (in the strict logical sense of the word); if it is inductive, then it should be strong. Make sure to avoid committing logical fallacies within your argument (e.g., begging the question). Additionally, the premises should be true, to the best of your knowledge. If one of your premises has a pretty obvious counter-example, then you should either fix the argument so that it does not have this flaw, or later, in your paper (steps three through five) you should address the apparent counter-example (showing that it does not really refute the truth of your premise). Arguments that are not valid, not very strong, commit fallacies, or that have counter-examples that are not adequately addressed will not receive full credit.
  • Provide supporting evidence for the premises of your argument. [Approximately 350 words]
    • Pay special attention to those premises that could be seen as controversial. Evidence may include academic research sources, supporting arguments (arguments whose conclusions are premises of the main argument), or other ways of demonstrating the truth of those premises. This section should include at least one scholarly research source.
  • Explain a strong objection to your argument. [Approximately 250 words]
    • Study what people on the other side of this question think about your reasoning and present the best possible objection that someone could have to your argument. Do not commit the straw man fallacy here. Reference at least one scholarlyresearch source.
  • Defend your argument against the objection. [Approximately 200 words]
    • Once you have presented the objection, indicate clearly how you might respond to it. It is acceptable to admit that reasonable people might disagree with you or that there might be an area in which your argument could be further strengthened, but you should do your best to explain why your argument is sound or cogent despite the objections.
  • Provide an appropriate conclusion. [Approximately 75 words]
  • Must be 1,100 to 1,400 words in length, double-spaced,
  • Must use at least three scholarly sources
  • Must document all sources in APA style

prepare and submit a term paper on Plea Bargaining Assignment.

You will prepare and submit a term paper on Plea Bargaining Assignment. Your paper should be a minimum of 250 words in length. LAPD officer vs. Pomona officers On April 11, in the morning, Sergio Arreola, an LAPDs Central Division rookie drove to Pomona after concluding a night shift patrol with an objective of meeting wife. On his way, his wife called to informing him she had involved in a road accident in a neighborhood. When he got to the scene, Pomona officers, Hamilton and Tucker, hulled him to the ground and handcuffed him despite explaining to them that he was an LAPD officer off-duty. Pomona police officials then informed LAPD supervisors of Arreola of his conduct and arrest, which prompted Arreolas commanding officer to call on him to quit or be, axed (Rubin Para 11). Arreola declined to do either of the two options given to him explaining the Pomona police officers gave a false accusation.

He was charged with resisting arrest, assaulting Hamilton as well as interfering with Pomona officers’ work by the Los Angeles County district attorneys office. During his trial, the jury acquainted Arreola after establishing that he was not guilty. He was awarded $260,000 in damages and the LAPD offered to reinstate him. Arreola’s case fits charge bargaining, where the prosecutors trade off serious offenses with lower crimes for a plea. Arreola was given the option to plead guilty for a lesser offense, but decline the plea. According to Rubin, “Arreola refused to consider a guilty plea in exchange for a lenient sentence” (Para 10). In the, case, Arreola emerged the beneficiary because he was acquainted and awarded $260,000 after he was found not guilty of the offense by the jury. Moreover, he never pleaded guilty for a lesser charge as was initially decided by the Los Angeles County district attorneys office.

submit a 3250 words paper on the topic Failure Mode Avoidance in the Automotive Industry.

In the recent past, the automotive industry has experienced an increase in competition. In order to provide customers with quality products and services, manufacturing companies have been forced to adopt effective models. For instance, companies are being forced to re-design their product development process to identify and control the noise factor limits, and then come up with appropriate countermeasures. By distancing products from failure modes, companies can then be able to improve reliability. The importance of using failure mode avoidance (FMA) methodologies is supported by many researchers. This paper examines the application of this concept within the automotive and manufacturing industries.

In the modern economy, it has become imperative to produce quality products that are appealing to customers. With this in mind, car manufacturers constantly improve their production processes and their designs. The concept is very suitable in the face of growing recall cases, and a perfect example can be borrowed from the Toyota Company. In 2013, the company recalled 1.3 million vehicles due to airbag defects, and this exercise is expected to cost the company over $55 billion. In 2010, the company suffered a similar problem occasioned by the pedal entrapment malfunction. Since then, the company has conducted other recalls, and Ahsen, (2008) suggests that such incidences could have been avoided by implementing the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis programs. The FMA approach helps the manufacturers to identify high-risk characteristics and develop appropriate measures to avoid potential failures. The current rules and regulations require the automotive industry to use multidisciplinary teams to identify failures and defects. The technical team is required to identify the following three types of failure modes: materials, processes, and costs. The concept of failure mode avoidance was first used by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA) group in the 1960sand was later adopted by the Ford Motor Company in the 1980s. Since then, the concept has been extended to the healthcare industry. In this sector, the concept is being employed to reduce the number of medication errors, and evaluate the effects of the failure modes. The next sections examine the application of the concept in the automotive industry.

Write a 2 pages paper on science meets real life

On critical examination of the subject matter. It is actually the most probable reason that can be linked to the case. This is so because the one thing which most of the students in the school share is the food. It might be that the food which is being offered right now may be from a supplier who may not be carrying out quality tests on it or at the same time the school restaurant may be having a lacking of quality inspection which it is supposed to carry out. The problem can pose itself in two ways. either internally or externally.

Testable Questions

Question 1: has there been a change in the supplier who supplies the schools with the foodstuff?

Question 2: are the school restaurant departments doing their best in maintaining the quality of the services they are offering?

Question 3: are the students having a change in diet like for example cases of them consuming what they are not used to?

Question 4: what is the hygiene of the eating area of the schools?

Question 5: Have there been cases of anomalies in the schedules of the students and more so those who are currently absent from school?

Question 6: has there been a problem between the management and the members of the catering department?

The statement “The Brentwood Indians basketball team lost the state championship because there is bad stuff in the stars happening with Mars in Aquarius” can be a suitable thesis statement in the course of carrying out research. The main reason for this is because it can be used as a statement from which a phenomenon can be established and in this case getting to know whether it is true or false. After having the statement as the guide it is when it can be established whether the research will fulfill its demands or not.
